Andrew E says he has no plans of accepting gov’t position

Rapper Andrew E., who supported the candidacy of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte, revealed that a group of people wanted him to get a government post.

In an interview with entertainment site PEP, Andrew said that he wants to focus on his career as an entertainer instead.

“A group of people submitted my name for the government ano. Maybe position or whatever,” he told PEP.

“But with me kasi, ano… I’d like to do service to, you know, my Dongalo Wreckords. And ngayong medyo umangat nang kaunti ang aking leverage sa pagiging rapper or entertainer, or maybe artista…”

Andrew, who was among the regular performers in the UniTeam’s campaign rallies, also said that he wants to use the limelight he is now enjoying to help fellow rappers.

“Siguro it’s about time again, you know, na makatulong naman ako nang kaunti pa sa mga rapper ko na medyo nagtatandaan sila. And yet, gusto ko pa ring dagdagan ang achievements nila,” the rapper said.

“So, minamabuti ko na yung nage-gain kong karagdagang fame and popularity, gastusin ko yun sa pagtulong sa kapwa,” Andrew added.

Andrew also believes that there are others more qualified than him to hold a government position, so he would rather give way to them.

“And para sa akin, mas maligaya ako nang ganun. And sa dami-dami naman ng mas qualified, mas bagay at mas dedicated kesa sa akin towards governing the people and at the same time serving the people,” he said.

“Siguro ibigay ko na muna yung chance sa mga tunay na nararapat, much more than me. Ako naman, magpapaka-busy na muna ako na tumulong sa tao and at the same time, palawigin din yung career ko na para lalong makatulong again lalo sa marami,” he added.

Andrew is touring the world for his “Bagong Pilipinas Tagalog Rap Festival” concert.
