Cop caught reselling seized shabu accuses NBI of extortion, planting evidence

  • Rogue cop arrested for recycling shabu accused NBI of extortion and planting of evidence
  • The cop said the agents tried to extort P6.9 million in exchange for dropping the case against him and his wife
  • The NBI denied the cop’s allegations

Police Officer 2 (PO2) Jolly Aliangan, an anti-narcotics police recently arrested for allegedly reselling illegal drugs seized in past anti-illegal drugs operations, accused agents of the National Bureau of Investigation who arrested him with extortion and planting of evidence.

In a 15-page counter-affidavit he filed before the Department of Justice, PO2 Aliangan claimed the NBI agents tried to extort P6.9 million in exchange for dropping the complaint against him, his wife and nephew.

During the raid in Aliaga’s three-storey house in Balic-Balic, Sampaloc, Manila, the raiding team found P6.9 million in cash, several grams of shabu and pieces of jewelry inside a vault discovered in a bedroom. Several unlicensed firearms were also recovered.

In his affidavit, the arrested cop claimed he had no shabu in his house and that the shabu supposedly found inside the vault in their bedroom was planted by the NBI agents. He also claimed that the Php6.9 million was not his or his wife’s, but belonged to his mother, who earned it from selling jewelry.

Aliangan also claimed he has no key to the vault as it was owned by his mother. He said the NBI took them to an adjacent room while they forcibly opened the vault.

“After a few minutes, my wife and I were again forcefully brought inside our bedroom, finding the vault already open with alleged illegal drugs together with money and pieces of jewelry,” Aliangan was quoted by Jeffrey Damicog of Manila Bulletin as saying.

While there were no media and barangay officials around, the policeman said agents asked to “give them the P6.9 million and they will lift my case and will not implead my wife, Rosalie.”

NBI-National Capital Region Regional Director Atty. Max Salvador said they are anticipating Aliangan’s allegations.

“Nandoon ang camera ng media at mga barangay. Maraming nakakita kaya imposible ‘yung sinasabi niya,” he said.

[Media cameras and barangay officials were there. Many have witnessed (the raid) so what he was saying was impossible.]

  1. Dapat arestuhin at ikulong ang Nanay nito, possession ng shabu at illegal firearms. Tapos pawalan na siya, i announce don sa drug lord na nasa labas na siya ng kulungan at bahala na drug lord sumingil sa kanya. Ill give him 3 days to live, knowing drug lord will think he made a deal with police to implicate drug lord kaya siya pinalaya ng pulis.
