MANILA, Philippines -Former “Goin’ Bulilit” stars CJ Navato and Kristel Fulgar are now the latest online sensations.
After their cover of Little Mix and Jason Derulo’s “Secret Love Song” became an instant hit online, the two Star Magic artist teamed up to cover Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor’s 2015 hit song, “Marvin Gaye”.
The song was released as Puth’s debut single. It topped the music charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and New Zealand, and reached the top 40 in Austria, Canada, and the United States.
Navato and Fulgar looked like they were just having fun as they sang the romantic duet. They looked cute in their matching jackets with the word, “Friendzoned” printed on them.
The 21-year-old actress is known for her roles in “Maria Flordeluna”, Dahil Sa Pag-ibig”, “Got to Believe”, and “Bagito”. She was among the third batch of “Goin’ Bulilit” graduates. Together with Kiray Celis, Hopia Legaspi and Eliza Pineda, Fulgar graduated from the show on June 17, 2007. Her latest acting stint was on “Pangako Sa’Yo”, wherein she played the character of Ichu, the friend of Angelo (Daniel Padilla) and Ligaya (Sue Ramirez) who sells fruits in the market for a living.
As for Navato, he made his first television appearance when he joined ABS-CBN’s reality-based talent competition “Star Circle Quest: Kids Edition” in 2004. He got in the “Magic Circle of 5” and became the fourth placer. After that, he became a part of Star Magic with an exclusive contract with the Kapamilya network. Together with Kathryn Bernardo, Jane Oineza, Mikylla Ramirez, Steven Christian Fermo, Navato graduated from “Goin’ Bulilit” on October 19, 2008, as the show’s fifth batch of graduates. He is currently a cast of the teen comedy series “Luv U”.
