- Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos will face each other in the URCC Fight Night on June 25
- Geisler said he started preparing for the match
- Matos is confident he can defeat Geisler
After agreeing to the open invitation of the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) to settle his differences with indie film actor Kiko Matos inside the URCC cage, Baron Geisler disclosed he started training for the fight.
The two actors will be among the fighters who will participate in the URCC Fight Night on June 25 at Valkyrie, the Palace, Uptown Bonifacio Global City.
According to an article published by ABS-CBN News, Geisler said in an interview with reporters on the sidelines of the opening of the French Film Festival on Wednesday, June 8 there ‘will be blood’ when the two of them face off in a mixed martial arts match.
“It’s very exhausting kasi (because) I’m having a hard time with all the media and iyung mga (the) interviews, instead of me running or training. Huminay-hinay na rin ako sa paninigarilyo kasi (I’m also slowing down with smoking because) I need to stay focused,” he added.
The controversial actor revealed that he has yet to sign a contract with the Universal Reality Combat Championship.
As for Matos, he is confident that he can defeat Geisler inside the URCC cage.
Yahoo News quoted him as saying: “Well, I got some tricks up my sleeve. I don’t really tell, guessing what I have, but I think I can take on Baron Geisler.”
Matos and Geisler got involved in a physical fight at a local bar last May.
As seen in a video posted on Facebook by a user named Medmessiah CombatBoi, Geisler was shaking hands with Matos when the latter suddenly hit him a number of times.
Geisler was restrained before he could retaliate while Matos was dragged out of the bar.
He was heard saying at the end of the video: “Yung sa akin lang, pare, dinisrespect niya ‘yung…kaaway niya kanina.”
[My point is that he disrespected his opponent earlier.]
