- The drug lords and other crime bosses raised the bounty for the heads of Duterte and 3 others to P1 billion
- A source said 20 crime bosses are behind the assassination plot
- Aside from Duterte, the assassination targets include Incoming PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa, senator-elect Leila De Lima and Bureau of Corrections chief Ricardo Rainier Cruz III
The bounty being offered by drug lords and other crime bosses for the heads of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte and three other officials was raised to P1 billion.
Earlier reports said a convicted drug lord named Peter Co, who is serving his sentence at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), offered P50 million for the heads of Duterte and incoming Philippine National Police Chief Ronald Dela Rosa, but a source, who declined to be identified for obvious reasons, told Inquirer that it is not only Co who wanted Duterte and Dela Rosa dead.
The source said 20 drug lords and other crime bosses contribute to the pot to raise the bounty to P1 billion.
“Not only one person will pay, but people from different organizations. There are probably 20,” the source said.
“Nasisiraan na yung mga tao sa loob. Hindi kasi nila alam kung seseryosohin ni Digong yung sinabi niyang papatayin lahat ng drug lords doon,” the source added.
[They (drug lords) are getting alarmed. They are not sure if Digong (Duterte) is serious with his warning that he will kill all the drug lords inside (the NBP)]
Aside from Duterte and Dela Rosa, former Justice Secretary and now senator-elect Leila De Lima and Bureau of Corrections chief Ricardo Rainier Cruz III are now included as targets of the assassination plot hatched by the drug lords.
