Creepy and sad: Man dies watching ‘The Conjuring 2’ inside cinema; body is missing

  • Indian man succumbs to heart attack while watching popular horror movie
  • He was declared dead on arrival at the hospital
  • His body and companion who was with him later disappeared; authorities left baffled

An Indian man has died while watching ‘The Conjuring 2’ inside a movie house earlier this week.

According to the Times of India, the victim—a 65-year-old man who hailed from the state of Andhra Pradesh—was watching the horror movie with a companion at a cinema in Tiruvannamalai town, Tamil Nadu when he suddenly complained of chest pains before collapsing.

His companion brought him to the hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Even more bizarre however, was the disappearance of the man’s body. According to the authorities, hospital personnel asked the victim’s companion to take his remains to another hospital located in the town’s outskirts for post-mortem. However, neither the companion nor the cadaver ever showed up. It is still unknown whether the companion deliberately took the body away or not.

While an investigation is underway to find the man’s companion and the missing body, the story has sparked a panic on social media, with many sharing their own stories of purported supernatural events after watching the film.

‘Conjuring 2’ follows paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren as they attempt to help a British family from an evil spirit haunting them. The movie is based on the “Enfield Poltergeist” which involved the real-life Hodgson family and the claim they were haunted by a poltergeist from 1977 to 1979.

The movie has been successful at the box office, garnering almost $152 million against a budget of $40 million. Producers of the film have announced a spin-off, ‘The Nun’, which will focus on the malevolent character in ‘Conjuring 2’. A sequel for the movie is also reportedly in the works.
