MANILA, Philippines – Sorry, there’s no P99 promo fare.
On its various social media accounts, Philippine Airlines (PAL) debunked the viral post claiming that it is offering a P99 fare for various destinations; said it is fake.
“It has come to our attention that a promo offering tickets for P99 is spreading online. Please be advised that this is not authorized or sanctioned by the Philippine Airlines. All seat sale promotions being offered to the general public by Philippine Airlines are approved by the Philippine Civil Aeronautics Board (PCAB) and are always published on our verified social media accounts or on the official Philippine Airlines website,” read the statement on PAL’s Facebook.
The flag carrier also vowed to go after the perpetrators who created the site which spread the post.
“Rest assured that we will be coordinating with authorities to identify parties behind the website so we can take necessary legal actions,” PAL said.
The website in question, “thelatest.cf”, earlier offered the promo. The post later went viral in several social media sites; prompting numerous parties to visit the site.
Some of those who fell for the hoax warned others not to click on the fake post and said it could contain a virus or malware.
PAL itself disowned “latest.cf” as one of its subsidiaries or agents.
“Please be advised that the Php99 promo circulating online from a certain thelatest.cf website is not an official Philippine Airlines promotion,” the carrier said.
