MANILA, Philippines – Lead actress of upcoming Star Cinema film “The Achy Breaky Hearts” Jodi Sta. Maria believes that ‘Mr. Right’ is just around the corner.
The 34-year-old actress, who had recently admitted that she and Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla are no longer together during the pocket press conference of her movie with Ian Veneracion and Richard Yap, said that women her age shouldn’t let themselves be carried away by the pressure imposed by the society and hurry up to be in a relationship.
She emphasized that there’s a difference in being single and being an old maid and we must not lose faith in love.
Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) quoted her as saying: “So, it’s not bad naman that you wait. While waiting for Mr. Right, you also make yourself the right one. You prepare yourself also so that when that right one comes, ‘di ba [right]?
The actress admitted her breakup with Jolo in an interview on “Tonight with Boy Abunda” last July 21.
The two of them have been together for several years and when they were just starting, they agreed to keep their personal lives away from the public eye.
When Jodi was asked by Boy Abunda what’s the biggest lesson she learned about love, she said that a woman should know her own worth and value.
ABS-CBN News quoted her as saying: “Loving yourself isn’t selfish at all. We should never apologize for having high standards in love because the right man or the man who really wants to be in your life will rise up to meet those standards.”
She said she also believes in second chances but at the moment, after her failed relationship with Jolo, she is not yet ready to enter a relationship again.
“But I know that when the time is right, I will,” she added.
