MANILA, Philippine – Singer Julie Anne San Jose proved that one can enjoy both study and career at the same time as she graduated from college on Tuesday.
An article by Inquirer published on May 31 said San Jose graduated from Angelicum College in Quezon City; majoring in Communication Arts.
The 22-year-old singer is really thankful that she finished her degree despite “sleepless nights, fatigue and even disappointments” as she also manages her singing career while studying.
“I’ve realized it’s okay to admit I wasn’t perfect, I was struggling. I’ve juggled work and studies, yet managed to survive,” San Jose wrote as the caption to her graduation photo she shared on her Instagram account.
“As I went through four and a half years, I’ve learned that it pays not to worry so much about where you ranked but rather think about the joy you get with what you do,” the singer said further.
San Jose goes on saying that life’s path is never smooth and there will always be tough times, regrets and failures as well as success, reward and happiness along the way. She also reminds her Instagram followers that although it’s been a long road, with hard work and patience, anything is possible.
“This is certainly a huge milestone. The tassel’s worth the hassle,” she concluded.
San Jose is a recipient of the “Diamond Record Award” from the Philippine Association of the Record Industry for her album Julie Anne San Jose which sold more than 150,000 units in the Philippines.
Moreover, her second album entitled Deeper also gave her a Triple Platinum Award for reaching sales of more than 45,000 units in the Philippines. The singer had released four albums in total.
An article by ABS-CBN News said San Jose’s cover of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” has more than 20 million views on YouTube, which is the singer’s most viewed video to date.
Aside from being a singer, San Jose also took part in acting; appearing in a handful of films and several television shows.
