- Kanye West unveiled a controversial music video of his latest single, Famous
- It featured various celebrity look-alikes lying naked in bed with West and his wife Kim Kardashian

Kanye West is no stranger to controversy. On June 24, Friday, he released his latest and possibly most controversial music video to date, for his hit single ‘Famous’ in his album, ‘The Life of Pablo’.
‘Famous’ featured West, along side his wife Kim Kardashian and 10 other look-alikes of famous celebrities and figures; lying in bed naked together.
The ‘star-studded’ ensemble consists of look-alikes of former US president George W. Bush, presidential candidate Donald Trump, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, Rihanna and her ex Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, Kardashian’s exboyfriend Ray J, West’s exgirlfriend Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner, and Bill Cosby.
The video, which was filmed over a period of three months and cycled through four different formats and several different collaborators, left the viewers guessing as to which of the celebrities are really playing themselves and which are created through digital trickery, as per an article published by Vanity Fair.
“It’s not in support or against any of the people in the video,” West said. “It’s a comment on fame.”
The thought-provoking scene is a recreation of painter Vincent Desiderio’s work, ‘Sleep’; recast with pop stars and news-makers, many of whom have been part of West’s career.
Desiderio shared his insights with Cosmopolitan, and said he was a fan of West’s modern twist in bringing his painting to life.
“It’s an extraordinary and bold and different move for Kanye West. I was absolutely floored and incredibly flattered and incredibly happy to see the video, which I think is really beautiful,” he said.
West seems to be expecting for an outraged response especially from those who were featured from the video, as he posted on Twitter, “Can somebody sue me already #I’llwait.” The tweet was deleted shortly after its posting.
West also claimed that after previewing the music video to a few celebrity friends and peers, the reception has been positive.
“Guess what the response is when I show it to them?” he said. “They want to be in the bed.”
