MANILA, Philippines – Former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas is a picture of one proud husband as he attended his wife, Korina Sanchez’s graduation at the Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) in Quezon City on Sunday, June 26.
Sanchez finished her Master’s degree in Journalism.
On his official Facebook page, the defeated Liberal Party standard-bearer, who also attended ADMU where he finished his elementary and high school education, shared several photos taken during his wife’s graduation and wrote: “Attended Korina’s graduation this afternoon, she finished her Masters in Journalism from Ateneo de Manila. Such a sight to see: graduates marching in to the familiar tah-tatatata-tah tune. So proud, so serious and so confident! Parents (and husbands like me) so proud also. Congrats to Korina and all the other graduates. AMDG, One Big Fight!”
For her part, Sanchez also shared several photos on her Instagram account, including photo of her wearing a graduation cap as she expressed her excitement for another important event in her life saying: “Graduation daaaaay! Terno ang cap sa outfit! (The cap matches the outfit)”
In a previous interview with ABS-CBN News, the award-winning broadcast journalist shared that she had always wanted to pursue higher studies but due to duties and responsibilities, she had to put it on hold for a while.
“It helped me get a grip on my own life, too. The exercise of taking Masters in Journalism isn’t just for more knowledge or to equip me better as a professional. It was also, and mostly in this particular circumstance, a way to discipline my mind,” she added.
