DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Reynan Dal-Anay, the Voice Kids PH Season 2 finalist from the Tighawanon Manobo Tribe of Bukidnon, performed at president-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s grand victory party at Davao Crocodile Park on Saturday evening.
Dal-Anay, dressed in his traditional Manobo clothing, sang his own rendition of ‘Bayan Ko’, an original of Ka Freddie Aguilar, at the ‘DU31: One Love, One Nation Thanksgiving party’, while he waved a Philippine flag he was holding. He said:
“Ito po ang kanta para sa inyo at sa ating tatay na si Duterte [This song is for you and for our father, Duterte].”
The 11-year-old runner-up under Coach Lea’s (Salonga) team in the Voice Kids belted out two songs: Bayan Ko and Tagumpay nating lahat, which was popularized by none other than Lea Salonga. The young singer thanked the crowd and asked them to sing along with him.
Dal-Anay, last November, also serenaded the economic leaders and delegates at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Welcome Dinner, alongside International artist Apl de Ap, at the Mall of Asia Arena.
The victory party, which was organized by the Davaoenos for incoming president Rodrigo Duterte, his daughter Mayor Inday Sara Duterte Carpio, and his son re-electionist Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte, was joined by more than 300,000 supporters and well-wishers of the Mayor from all over the country. Artists such as Vice Ganda, Ahron Villaflor, Carlos Agassi, Paolo Santos, Andrew E., Jimmy Bondoc, Bernardo Bernardo, and Beverly Salvero were among the local stars who performed in the celebration.
