Presidential sisters–Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, Pinky Aquino-Abelleda, Viel Aquino-Dee and Kris Aquino–have been invited to the oath-taking of Vice President-elect Leni Robredo on June 30 at the Quezon City Reception House in New Manila.

However, the Aquino sisters cannot come as they were also invited at the turnover rites that will transpire on the same date between the outgoing and incoming President of the Republic, an article written by Julianne Love De Jesus on Philippine Daily Inquirer disclosed.

Georgina Hernandez, Robredo’s spokesperson, said the incoming vice president understands the reason why the Aquino sisters cannot attend her oath-taking as she noted that they might be joining President Benigno S. Aquino III for the inauguration rites of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte.

The Aquino sisters supported the candidacy of Robredo and campaigned for her, as well. Kris Aquino was also her top contributor as she donated a whopping P31.8 million campaign funds to the former Camarines Sur lawmaker.

Despite the fact that President Aquino cannot attend Robredo’s inauguration, he was invited to attend the thanksgiving party of the incoming vice president at the QC Memorial Circle in the afternoon of June 30.

Meanwhile, Robredo’s camp said that they have invited her running mate, defeated presidential candidate Mar Roxas, and his family to attend the short and simple inauguration.

Celebrities and personalities who supported Robredo are expected to grace the affair to entertain the supporters during the party.
