Actress Sunshine Dizon is set to file a case against her estranged husband Timothy Tan after the latter confirmed they have separated.
The actress gave her side of the story via a statement which she coursed through her manager, Perry Lansigan, on June 21, an article published by Rappler disclosed.
In her statement, Sunshine said that what she is going through is not easy and that she would like to settle things quietly in the meantime for the sake of her two children.
As revealed by her lawyer, they have gathered enough evidence and witnesses who will collaborate with the statements made by Sunshine; making her case against her husband stronger.
The camp of her estranged husband, on the other hand, said they have anticipated the move of the actress.
Part of Sunshine’s official statement reads:
“Hindi po madali ang pinag dadaanan ko at ng mga anak ko ngayon. I’m trying my best to keep everything private but my situation as an actress makes it difficult to keep everything away from the public.”
[What my children and I are going through isn’t easy.]
She continued: “Please bear with me in this difficult situation as I am preparing for battle.”
In addition, Sunshine thanked everyone who extended their support which, she noted, inspired her to fight not only for herself and for her children but also for those who are in the same situation as her.
Expressing her desire to pursue the legal battle, the actress said it is not right that she remain silent as she further vowed to speak the truth in the proper time.
The same statement was posted on her personal Instagram.
After her statement, Sunshine posted another note which she captioned, “Sending out my love and prayers to everyone going through what I’m going through right now. Believe you are strong.”
Likewise, she wrote: “I would like to sincerely thank everyone for showing your support and love. A lot of you I don’t know but still, you went out of your way to make me feel that I am not alone.”
It continued: “Some of you have also shared your own stories. [It] breaks my heart all the more knowing there are a lot of you suffering in silence.”
“I hope one day my story becomes your story, a story of courage. This is not just my fight anymore but also your fight. Do not feel small and ashamed. Keep your heads up and have pride. Stand on truth. Fight for what is right and just. Lalaban po tayo (We shall fight),” the note ended.
