  • Arnell Ignacio has been offered a government post under President Duterte’s administration
  • He refused to reveal on which department he would be assigned
  • He  said his government position isn’t related to the entertainment industry
  • He revealed his position deals with public service, which is what he really wants to do

Comedian Arnell Ignacio revealed that he has been offered a government position under President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration.

In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Ignacio did not reveal on which department he would be assigned and said he would reveal it once he gets his office order.

He made it clear, however, that his government position isn’t related to the entertainment industry, like the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

“Hindi ko naman kasi alam ‘yan, e. Mas gusto ko ang public service, kasi yun naman talaga ang alam ko, e. Mas gusto ko ‘to kesa sa entertainment,” he said.

[I don’t know about that. I really prefer public service, because that’s what I know. I like this compared to entertainment.]

Although he hasn’t received his office order yet, Ignacio revealed he started to report on the government agency wherein he was assigned because he needs to arrange several things.

He promised that he would be very careful in his new position, noting that it is very valuable.

He’s happy that through his new position, it would be very easy for him to help those who are in need.

“Hindi ako mahihirapan sa mga gustong lumapit sa akin para matulungan, lalo na sa pagpapagamot,” he said.

[I won’t have a hard time with all those who will come to me for help, especially when it comes to healthcare needs.]

Ignacio was one of the loyal and active celebrity supporters of President Duterte during the campaign period. He was among those who were very keen in defending the new president from all the issues thrown at him at that time, including that alleged hidden wealth accused by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
