- Delamar Arias is leaving The Morning Rush after 20 years
- She confirmed on Friday morning that next week will be her last
- Delamar refused to mention the reason but said she will be open for questions next week
If you’re tuned in to Monster Radio Rx 93.1 every morning, you’re probably a fan of The Morning Rush (TMR) trio: Chicco, Delamar and Gino. For years, the “Kikay Barkada” has made every morning commute to work or school bearable, but now, we have to say good bye.
No, not to the whole show but only to Delamar as she announced on TMR on Friday morning that next week will be her last hurrah in Rx’s primetime morning program.
“I’m not going anywhere, I’m not migrating, I’m not going to another radio station,” she clarified as quoted by Spot.ph.
The two male hosts said they knew about Delamar’s decision more than one year now and that the female host was just finding the perfect time to finally say good bye. She did not want to do it this month because it is the 20th anniversary of the show, which initially was just hosted by Delamar and Chicco.
Delamar did not mention why she is leaving but said that she would probably entertain questions for next week. They announced it this Friday to allow their avid listeners to cope with the news.
Fans posted their “heartbreak” comments on TMR’s Facebook page.
“Since high school until my college days until I’ve reach where am I now, Delamar and Chico is like my morning boost whether in Philippines until here abroad. Definitely delamar, [will] be missed,” a Carlos Ivy wrote.
“It will never be the same without you, Delamar,” Tina Benavidez commented.
Meanwhile, others are pretty supportive and optimistic about the host’s decision.
“God Bless you Delamar 🙂 we will miss your big laughter! Anyway, we will still support The Morning Rush! :),” a Rea Quidet said.
“God bless on your journey delamar i had a good laugh :),” a new fan, Mark Sy, said.
