Duterte identifies PH’s top drug lords, pins Garbo as protector in illegal drug trade hierarchy

  • President named the country’s top drug lords, shared a hierarchy of drug pushers
  • He also tagged PNP general Marcelo Garbo as the coddler of two of the top drug lords
  • He called on them to either take their life or remain in prison

MANILA, Philippines – Days after he identified the five PNP generals who were allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade, President Rodrigo Duterte released the hierarchy and names of the country’s top drug lords.

In a press conference aired by PTV-4, Duterte showed a diagram containing the hierarchy of the different drug syndicates in the country. Identified as the big bosses of the Chinese triad were Chinese nationals Wu Tuan alias Peter Co and Peter Lim alias Jaguar.

According to Duterte, Co headed drug operations in Luzon and the National Capital Region (NCR) while Lim lorded it over the Visayas.

Herbert Colangco, alias Ampang, was also named as one of the country’s top drug lords.

All three are currently incarcerated at the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP).

Also show in the diagram was retired PNP Deputy Director Marcelo Garbo. According to Duterte, Garbo protected Co and Lim when he was still active in the service.

“Because there is the level of participation, you’d notice that Garbo is indicated in the line of hierarchy,” he said.

The president promised that the country’s drug problem will be solved in due time. He also warned the drug lords and Garbo that their time of reckoning will come.

“In the fullness of God’s time, we will solve the problem, the drug problem of the Philippines. I’m just warning this Peter Lim and Peter Co: do not escape from prison; you will die. Colangco: never try to go out of prison; you will die,” he said. . And regarding Garbo, I think the DILG will take care of him. The other personalities in this matrix are persons of interest. Will they also die? I do not know.”
