P57 per night dorms to rise in 4 cities nationwide

  • Several low-cost male dormitories will rise in Makati, Manila, Davao and Bataan
  • A number of refurbished container vans will be used for the new housing units
  • The dormitories can accommodate tenants for as low as P57 per night

A number of low-cost dormitories that targets backpackers and weary commuters will rise in four cities nationwide after the Mandaluyong-based housing chain Citihub announced its plans for expansion on Thursday.

In an article written by Jon Carlos Rodriguez for ABS-CBN News on July 21, 2016, it was disclosed that several refurbished container vans will be stationed in Sta. Ana, Makati City; Sta. Mesa, Manila; Davao City; and Bataan to accommodate male occupants for a rate of only P57 per night.

“We plan to expand In dense locations. Our target market are the people who are commuting,” Cityhub co-founder Nikki Yu said in a press interview during the Franchise Asia International Conference at the SMX Convention Center.

According to Yu, several premium dormitories that feature air-conditioning systems and Wi-fi connectivity are also available in the new locations for a fee of not more than P2,000 per month.

She also said that Citihub is also entering into agreements with providers of online payment solutions to accommodate a more efficient system in dealing with their tenants.

The target occupants of the housing facilities range from minimum-wage earners to businessmen and professionals who would like to limit their finances to a minimum while saving enough money for their other needs.

“If you own land in the metro that’s 1,000 sqm at least and you’re willing to lease it to us to create half way houses ala Citihub, please message us through our email addresses (yu.nikki[at[gmail.com) and we will get back to you ASAP,” Citihub said in a press release.
