- Actress Troian Bellisario was asked which side is she taking on the Taylor Swift vs. Kim Kardashian situation
- Bellisario said she neither support Kim nor Taylor and that she’s appalled by the pop star’s “false feminism”
- She clarified that she truly had no opinion on the matter and wants to stay out of the controversy
Troian Bellisario, who plays Spencer Hastings on the tv show ‘Pretty Little Liars’, spoke her mind about the ongoing controversial Taylor Swift-Kanye West/Kim Kardashian feud.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan, Bellisario was asked which side is she on, whether Team Kim or Team Taylor, and she explained that it’s “a two-party system” that she doesn’t want to be a part of.
“I have such an aversion to the Kardashians because I literally don’t understand people’s obsession with them and I don’t want to accept them as our closest thing to a royal family,” the actress commented on the reality TV star.
She added, referring to the pop star: “I’m so appalled by what I consider to be her false feminism. It seems like she’s this person who’s like, “Sisterhood!” and then she does nothing but tear down the women that were once her friends.”
Her statement may be blunt, but Bellisario clearly doesn’t want any bad blood.
In a series of posts on her Twitter account, tagging several entertainment news outlet, she clarified her statement and asked to be left out of the controversy, as per an article published by Daily Mail.
“For goodness sake, what I said about her was that I truly had no opinion on whatever matter was most recently going on with her,” Bellisario wrote. “Please leave me out of noise like this. I basically said I would like to have no opinion on the topic. I’ve never even met her.”
“I said I couldn’t care less bout another Swift feud-apparently that means I’m in one with her. I’m appalled by people who misquote me, when really, I want nothing to do [with the] gossip,” she added. “I’m going to give a lot of non answers in the media from now on.”
The actress was disappointed that her comment was blown out of proportion and overshadowed some messages she would like to put across regarding the upcoming US elections.
“Worst part is, the rest of the interview was lovely,” she said. “I enjoyed talking about the DNC and why this election matters.”
