Soundtrack from ‘Imagine You & Me’ top in iTunes Philippines charts

MANILA, Philippines – Just a day after it was released in the digital world, the song from the upcoming film “Imagine You and Me” dominate the top songs on the charts of iTunes Philippines.

GMA News mentioned in an article that the theme song of the first solo movie featuring the loveteam of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, more popularly known as AlDub, claimed the top spots of iTunes PH.

The solo rendition of the song, sung by Maine, was on the top list of the chart. It was followed by a duet version of the song, sung by Maine and Alden, and on top 3 is the movie soundtrack’s minus one version.

GMA Records congratulated Maine and Alden, as well as Vic Sotto, who incorporated music to the lyrics written by Maine. Veteran singer and songwriter Jimmy Antiporda did the arrangement for the song.

“Congratulations, Maine Mendoza, Alden Richards at Bossing Vic! Unang araw pa lamang sa digital stores,#1 kaagad ang official soundtrack ng pelikulang Imagine You & Me (Maine Mendoza version) sa iTunes PH Top songs,” posted GMA Records on Instagram.

“Nasa #2 naman ang duet nina Maine at Alden at #3 ang minus-one version,” the post read further.

“Imagine You and Me”, a film directed by Michael Tuviera, is the first solo movie of Alden and Maine, and their first anniversary offering to their fans.

Created on July 16, 2015, during the episode of the noontime show, “Eat Bulaga”, AlDub loveteam was accidentally created when Alden and a new character Yaya Dub portrayed by Maine met.

A split screen “kilig” moment between the two started what would later become known as “Kalyeserye” which had attracted millions of fans all over the world.

As of posting, Hot Music Chart showed that Maine’s version of the song is still on top 1, while the duet version is on top 4.
