A kind-hearted grade one teacher went viral for letting pupils draw on her dress.
In an article written by James Gould-Bourn of Bored Panda, it was disclosed that teacher ShaRee Castlebury, who works at Pat Henry Elementary in Lawton, Oklahoma, wanted to do something special for her student’s last day of school.
Castlebury then decided to make the day both fun and memorable, asking the young students to draw anything they want on her white dress.
“My first idea that is original! This is all artwork courtesy of my first grade class! Who am I wearing? Room 219. Happy last day of school with my precious Picassos!” the teacher captioned the set of photos which she posted on Facebook.
Castlebury shared that she just bought a white dress with a belt, and fabric markers which was used by her pupils. She sprayed it with protectant afterwards.
In an interview, she said what she is wearing in the viral photos is a “memory dress.”
“It is a memory dress. Because I don’t want to lose the beauty of the kids as they have to grow up and move on from me,” she stated.
The photos she shared got a lot of good comments from Facebook users.
“What a great idea! You are a great teacher! So many kids are blessed to get to be in your classroom!” said B.R.
“That is the cutest thing I have ever seen! What a precious keepsake! How in the world did you do it?” J.W. stated.
“You are amazing… this is only a snippet of How great you are as an educator and person. You have my vote for Teacher Of the Year next year,” wrote T.J.
