VIDEO: PH’s “Junior New System” wins big in WCOPA 2016

Pinoy dance group “Junior New System” won major awards in this year’s World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA).

According to an article published by ABS-CBN News, the competition was held at Long Beach, California from July 8 to 17.

“Junior New System” showed their explosive energy on stage through their modern dance moves and stunts. They even wore heels for added difficulty.

The hip-hop group emerged as the 2016 Senior Grand Champion Performer of the World beating several others in the category and they were also named the 2016 Senior Champion Dance Group of the World.

They expressed their gratitude and dedicated their victory to everyone who supported them on their journey.

Last year, “Junior New System” was one of the nine grand finalists of “Asia’s Got Talent”

They danced to a mash-up of pop songs like Ricky Martin’s “Maria”, Jennifer Lopez’ “Let’s Get Loud” and Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love”.

They were able to impress and get a standing ovation from all of the four judges; former Spice Girls member Melanie C., “The Hitman” David Foster, singer/dancer and former F4 member Vanness Wu and Indonesian rock icon Anggun during the second night of the semifinals on April 23 last year.

They got the judges in total agreement and they got the much-coveted “golden buzzer“, which earned them a direct pass to the grand finals.
