Bong Revilla: Senator de Lima, you can’t escape karma

  • Former Senator Bong Revilla spoke up about the controversy which is being faced by Senator Leila de Lima
  • De Lima was accused of having a driver/lover who collected money from drug sources for campaign purposes
  • Revilla, who was involved in PDAF Scam by then justice chief De Lima, said the lady senator cannot escape karma

“Senator de Lima, walang takas sa karma [you can’t escape karma].”

This was the message of former Senator Bong Revilla Jr. to incumbent Senator Leila De Lima, who was accused by President Rodrigo Duterte of having a driver/lover who collected money from drug sources for campaign purposes.

“You dish it like the self-righteous person you are but act like a victim when you’re on the receiving end,” Revilla said, as quoted in an article written by Jojo Gabinete of PEP.

Back when De Lima was still the secretary of the Department of Justice, she involved Revilla and his friend, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, in the Priority Development Assistance Fund Scam. As a result, the two senators have been detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame for two years and two months now.

“Kaming mga kalaban niyo, ginawan niyo ng kuwento at dinurog niyo ang pangalan at pagkatao ng ganun na lang. Kaya ngayon, ang masasabi ko lang, sagutin mo nang diretso ang mga paratang sa ‘yo. Tapos na ang ilusyon mo. Harapin mo ang katotohanan [You invented stories about us, your enemies, and easily destroyed our name and reputation as a person. Now, my only advice to you is to answer directly the allegations being thrown at you. Your illusion is over. Face the truth],” Revilla stated.

“What goes around comes around,” the former senator stressed.

Accusations

On Wednesday, August 17,  Duterte — who went to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 for the arrival of the body of a Navy officer slain in a drug operation — told reporters that De Lima was the person he was referring to at Camp Crame earlier in the afternoon.

The president said De Lima had a driver/lover who had collected money from drug sources for campaign purposes. He said she even paid for a house for his driver.
