MANILA, Philippines – The end is near?
Finally releasing his much-awaited matrix showing Sen. Leila de Lima’s alleged role in the proliferation of illegal drugs at the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP), President Rodrigo Duterte told the embattled solon her career was practically finished with this newest expose.
“De Lima, you are finished,” the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted him as telling the senator during a late-night conference on Wednesday that ended 1 AM Thursday. “Tapos ka na. Sunod na eleksyon?”
The matrix the president showed during the conference included the names of De Lima, her former driver and rumored lover Ronnie Palisoc Dayan, former Justice Undersecretary Francisco “Toti” Baraan and his brother Raffy, Pangasinan 5th District Rep. Amado Espino, a “BM Raul P. Sison”, and former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) chief Gen. Franklin Bucayu.
The matrix described Dayan as De Lima’s lover and drug addict who fixed cases and wielded not only a lot of influence at the Department of Justice (DOJ) but also allegedly kept a government employee named “Ms. Cardenosa” as a dummy of properties given to him by the senator.
Espino meanwhile was tagged as a former Pangasinan governor accused of plunder and involved in black sand mining, quarrying and jueteng. He was also described as having amassed unexplained wealth along with being identified by Sison as the “richest politician in Northern Luzon”.
Toti and Raffy Baraan, on the other hand, were described as loyal followers of De Lima and Espino respectively.
As for Bucayu, he was described as someone who was able to attain plum posts because of De Lima’s lobbying. The matrix also alleged that he paid Dayan a monthly payola which was coursed through a certain “SP01 Palisoc of PRO 1.”
