De Lima denies white house, drug link allegations but says Duterte’s statements has “snippets of truth”

  • Embattled solon denied owning or giving away white house as gift to driver
  • She also denied having any links to the drug trade
  • However, she said president’s statement has snippets of facts and truth
  • She will reveal on Monday what these snippets are

MANILA, Philippines – No white house or drug links.

In a press conference on Friday, embattled Sen. Leila de Lima denied owning or giving the two-story white house in Urbiztondo, Pangasinan as a gift to her rumored driver-lover Ronnie Palisoc Dayan.

“Hindi sa akin ‘yan [That’s not from me],” the Philippine Daily Inquirer quoted her as saying.

The senator also denied involvement in the illegal drug trade after Duterte tagged Dayan as the bagman of drug lords at the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP).

“That’s an absolute lie. That’s completely false. I will never do that because I’ve never betrayed my oath as a public servant and I don’t intend to ever betray my oath as a public servant lalo na na may mandato ako ngayon sa taumbayan [I have a mandate from our countrymen],” she said.

At the same time, however, De Lima said there were some “snippets of facts and truths” in Duterte’s statement which she would elaborate more on next Monday.

“But this one I can tell you. May some snippets of facts, snippets of truths but the bulk of it are distortions, are exaggerations and lies,”  she said.

Dayan’s Sibling Owns White House

In a separate report by GMA News, the two-story white house where Dayan supposedly lives is owned by his sibling.

According to its news team who went to the Municipal Assessor’s Office, records show Dayan’s sibling as the house’s owner.

As for the orange bungalow which is also rumored to be another of De Lima’s gifts to Dayan, no owner was listed.

The village chief in Brgy. Galarin where the houses are located earlier claimed that De Lima would stay in the white house whenever she visited their municipality.

  1. First, she “categorically deny” the whole accusation.
Then, admitted “snippets of truth” to the whole accusation.
What’s next? Suddenly she wakes up and will eventually admit, “sorry, tao lang po ako?”
