A 32-year-old man was charged with parricide after repeatedly stabbing his wife to death, purportedly due to jealousy over a priest who was linked with the woman, on Sunday; around 4:00 pm at Soyo St., Gentiles Compound, Toril, Davao City.
The suspect, identified as Marlon Carcueva Gangi, a worker from a softdrink company claimed that he was furious when his wife, Jacky Lou Gentiles Gangi, 35, returned their wedding ring and wished to leave their house.
After police responded to a report by a concerned citizen, they discovered Jacky lifeless body which yielded 40 stabs on different parts, and recovered the pair of scissors which was believed to have been used by the suspect.
According to witnesses, the victim was heard crying for help and begging her husband to spare her life. A few minutes later, Marlon reportedly came out of the house and went to a school in Toril; looking for the director of the institution, who was a priest. The suspect was reportedly so blinded by jealousy that he wanted to kill the priest as well.

The suspect was eventually arrested by the police. The couple has four children ages 14, 11, 6 and 4 years old.
