Pokemon Go? How about Revolution Go?

Upon release from political detention, Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Secretary-General Wilma Tiamzon called on the youth to scrutinize government and be wary of the real monsters.

“Para sa mga kabataang Pilipino at sambayanan na nahuhumaling sa paghuli sa mga monster sa Pokemon Go, alam ninyo, marami din monster sa ating lipunan na kailangan nating labanan,” GMA News Online quoted Tiamzon.

[For the young Filipinos and to our countrymen who are addicted to Pokemon Go, you should also know that there are a lot of monsters in our society.]

“Sa halip na PokemonGo, maganda sana Revolution Go!” she also said.

Tiamzon, on Friday, August 19, was released from prison with her husband CPP Chairman Benito.

Other communist leaders Ariel Arbitrario, Eddie Genelsa and Alfredo Mapano, who are consultants of the left-leaning political group, were also temporarily released after posting bail.

Another political prisoner Pedro Codaste, known as “Ka Inggo” was also release late Friday night ahead of the government’s scheduled departure to Oslo for the peace talks on Saturday.

“I think that what is new about the Duterte administration is that the government is finally ready to listen to what we have to say. Because it is not possible that we will just surrender, everything that we have stood for all these years will be for nothing if we surrender,” Codaste said.

The Tiamzons, together with these freed left leaders, will participate in the resumption of peace talks in Oslo over the weekend.

CPP and the New People’s Army has issued a unilateral ceasefire with the Philippine government for 7 days in light of the peace negotiations.
