- A Facebook photo was shared online saying Pia Wurtzbach is the new host of Asia’s Next Top Model — 5th cycle
- Followers ‘connected’ the FB post to Pia’s tweet that she is so excited for ‘new things’to come, sparking rumors
- Miss Universe management denied the rumors; saying they haven’t received an official notice from Asia’s Next Top Model
“So excited for new things to come.”
This was Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach’s tweet early Thursday that got fans thinking what those “new things” would be.
Well, rumors went around that the fabulous Filipino beauty queen would be the next to host Asia’s Next Top Model after another Filipino model, Georgina Wilson, had the stint during the third cycle.
Last Tuesday, Asia’s Next Top Model (AsNTM) posted a vixen-like photo of the beauty queen with the text: “Pia Wurtzbach, New Host”. This came with the caption: “Are you guys excited for the 5th cycle of Asia’s Next Top Model?!”
The post has gotten 57,000 impressions and nearly 18,000 shares as of posting. Prior to her winning the crown, Pia was already a model so it seemed a perfect fit.
But wait. StyleBible sought confirmation from Pia’s managers, and it turns out, it’s all still just a dream for more fans wanting to see Queen P on a more regular basis.
“All inquires and requests for Miss Universe appearances and bookings are sent for my attention. Having Ms. Wurtzbach take part in the [AsNTM] series would be great, [but] I have not received an invitation for consideration,” Director of Talent Department for Miss Universe Esther Swan said in a story by StyleBible.
The possibility that the teaser is a hoax is huge because it was shared by an account different from the Facebook verified AsNTM page.
Anyway, true or not, it sure looks like Miss U’s followers are looking forward to her post about being excited “for new things to come.”
