- Man finds his true love through a phone number scribbled on the wall of a public toilet
- Mark Ellis initially sent a message to the number he found
- Ellis and wife Donna Roberts now have two kids and still laughing over how they met
Ideally, when we think of true love, we think of that seemingly perfect place on that first meeting such as a sunny day on a white sand beach or at a social gathering. Now there’s one man who, ironically, found his forever in a totally unexpected place – the toilet wall.
For British truck driver Mark Ellis, who’s now 51, he had no idea that his stopping at a public restroom while he was on his way to a pub would bring him his future wife.
At the restroom, he noticed a phone number scribbled on a wall next to a spiteful statement, “If you want a good shag, call Donna on.”
“I was curious to know if it was a real human being,” he said in an interview with The Sun.
His message was simply: “Hi. What are you up to?”
Mark had no idea that the text message was received by a legal secretary named Donna Roberts, who said she was confused upon reading the message and thought that it was a wrong sent.
A conversation ensued until such time that the two decided to meet.
At first, Mark did not reveal how he got the number, but as time passed the man finally confessed.
Donna claimed that it could be her ex-boyfriend who put the number and the ‘ad statement’ on the wall out of spite.
Donna, in a Metro News report, said maybe she should thank her ex as it turned out that he did her a favor.
The two are happily married and blessed with two kids, aged eight and nine. Thanks to that scribbling on the wall!
