MANILA, Philippines – Television host and socialite Tim Yap has denied rumors that he has gone into hiding after allegedly being accused as a drug user and supplier of ecstasy and other party drugs to celebrities.

He also denied being on President Rodrigo Duterte’s list of entertainment personalities who are into illegal drugs activities.

”I wanna clear it once and for all. Hindi po ako gumagamit ng bawal na gamot at ni isang beses never po akong nagbenta ng kahit anong ipinagbabawal na droga,” Yap said in a text message sent to entertainment columnist Jun Nardo of Bandera.

[I wanna clear it once and for all. I never use illegal drugs and not one single instance did I sell illegal drugs.]

Rumors started circulating after his notable absence at producer Mother Lily’s birthday party held last Friday.

Even TV host and talent manager Lolit Solis speculated during a radio program that Yap may have gone into hiding after landing on Duterte’s list of ‘narco-celebrities’.

But Yap said he greeted Mother Lily in advance and was not able to attend the party because of an engagement at the City of Dreams on the same day.

Yap also lamented on why his name is being dragged into the alleged rampant use of drugs in the entertainment industry, which he said, could bring negative effect on his business.

Yap, a bar owner, maintained he never sold drugs to celebrities going to his club; insisting that he is a healthy person – an active and fit person.

“Hindi po porke’t nandoon ako sa party scene, hindi porke’t nasa bars ako at sa events, eh ako po’y nagsu-supply,” said Yap.

[Just because I was at the party scene or at the bars and some events, it does not mean that I am supplying drugs.]

As a matter of fact, the TV host added, he has been cooperating with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the local government of Taguig City long before the campaign against drug was launched by the present administration.

He also called on those spreading malicious rumors against him to stop the lies because it is his personal life and his business that is at stake.
