- Angel Locsin neither confirmed not denied if she’s still Darna
- She assured the media that she will talk about it when the time comes
- She admitted that she is still open to play the role
Reports that Angel Locsin will still be playing Darna came out earlier this month after Aster Amoyo, a veteran entertainment columnist and talent manager, confirmed that she was able to talk to Star Cinema Managing Director Malou Santo and the latter indirectly confirmed that Angel will still be playing “Darna” in the planned movie adaptation of Mars Ravelo’s Filipino comics heroine which will be released next year.
Amoyo said: “The mere fact na hindi nag-a-announce ng ibang pangalan [that they haven’t mentioned anyone else], why do they have to wait this long kung talagang hindi si Angel ang gaganap [if Angel won’t be playing the role], di ba [right]?”
According to an article published by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Angel said that she’s very happy to hear about it but emphasized that as of the moment, they haven’t talked about anything yet.
Although she did not confirm or deny anything, she assured the media that she will talk about it when the time comes.
She admitted that she is still open play the role which she portrayed more than a decade ago when she was still under GMA Network.
“Hindi siya mawawala sa isip ko talaga,” she said.
Last year, she announced she has decided that she would no longer be doing the movie because her own health is at risk.
She underwent medical procedures in Singapore late last year and early this year to treat her medical condition.
When she was asked about the condition of her back now, Angel said in jest:”Okay na, puwede na siya sirain uli.”
[It’s okay now. I can break it again.]
She revealed that she is scheduled for another assessment with her doctor.
