- A black plastic box left along Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City caused a bomb scare
- An anonymous caller called the police to report the suspicious package
- Lawmen found a body of an unidentified man stuffed inside the plastic box
The body of an unidentified man, believed to be a victim of summary execution, was found stuffed inside a black plastic box that was left along Macapagal Boulevard in Pasay City on Tuesday, September 13.
Coconuts Manila said the Philippine National Police’s Special Weapons and Tactics team received a tip from an anonymous caller about the suspicious package thought to contain a bomb. The lawmen who responded to the scene instead found the tattooed body of a man inside the plastic box.
The man’s face was covered with packaging tape, which investigators suspect caused his death through asphyxiation as the body bore no visible wounds.
No identification was found on the dead man other than the following names tattooed on his body: Dennis Cruz, Aldin, JR, Toto, Ace Viray, Tampoy Hernandez, Macho, Kilabot and Tigas Morales.
The police brought the body of the victim to a funeral parlor.
Several photos of the victim were uploaded on Manila Bulletin’s Facebook page.
