“They were exciting personalities…they are prominent,” PNP Chief Dir. Gen. Bato dela Rosa said as per an Inquirer News story, while describing the list of alleged drug protectors of Kerwin Espinosa’s drug trading.
The list consists of names of prominent individuals; there were at least 74 individuals holding obligations in the government and 154 civilians who are being paid by Kerwin in exchange for his protection.
Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. gave a comprehensive review of the illegal operations of his son and distinctly recognized these personalities on a seven-page affidavit.
To be able to validate and strengthen the evidences, De la Rosa and his team in Police Regional Office (PRO)-Central Visayas are now processing affidavits of the nine allies of Espinosa Sr.
During the 115th Police Service Anniversary at the PNP Eastern Visayas headquarters at Camp Ruperto Kangleon, the copy of affidavit and the documents having the detailed charges to these personalities were given by Senior Insp. Jovie Espenido, Albuera police chief and Chief Supt. Elmer Beltejar, police regional director.
According to Beltejar, the names are newly listed names for they are not included in Duterte’s drug matrix. Moreover, this list would be a great help to the police force to be able to trace the exact locations of the narco-politicians and other personalities.
Last August 2, Espinosa Sr. surrendered to Dela Rosa after he felt an intense fear with the President’s warning. Upon surrendering, he admitted to Dela Rosa that his son is involved in drug trading but was not able to point where he is until now. The last time he talked to his son was on May.
In a press conference, De la Rosa rejected the request of the media to release the names of these personalities for the reason that he needs first to file these cases with strong evidences and then issue a warrant of arrest.
