“This is not the right time to point fingers,” said Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald Dela Rosa, who called on critics to stop the blame game over the deadly explosion that hit Davao City on September 2.

In stating this Dela Rosa said that there might be possible lapses in police intelligence gathering but assured that the police force are exerting all efforts to ensure people’s security against any similar attacks, an article written by Elizabeth Marcelo on GMA News Online disclosed.

“Kapag nalusutan tayo, kapag may sumabog automatic intelligence has to be blamed, but then again ‘yun ngang pinakamatindi na intelligence agency sa buong mundo, ‘yung CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) ng Amerika, well-funded and everything, nalusutan nga sila,” Dela Rosa was quoted saying.

Meanwhile, Dela Rosa said the police and the military are doing their best to determine which group is behind the incident as well as to ensure that the rest of the country is safe as he mentioned that while police units in Davao City are always on heightened alert whenever there are threats of terrorism, authorities cannot guard all possible points of entry at all times.

Earlier, Davao City vice mayor and presidential son, Paolo Duterte, revealed there are threats of terrorism in the city.
