- An Italian billionaire’s wife suddenly went missing, sparking fears she may have been kidnapped
- She later turned up on Instagram with photos in New York City
- She claimed to have been ‘physically abused’ by her husband
- Her furious husband is suing her for reneging on their prenuptial agreement
An Italian billionaire’s wife who was earlier feared to have been kidnapped has turned up in New York a few months after she was reported missing.
Miss Ukraine Anna Zaiachkivska, wife of Italian businessman Gianluca Cervara, went missing in July and her husband reported her disappearance to the police. She was believed to have been snatched, leaving Cervara distraught and heartbroken.
Just recently, the husband was shocked to discover she posted Instagram photos of herself with another man in New York. The post’s caption read “freedom”.
The 24-year-old beauty queen won the Miss Ukraine title in 2013. She has since been engaged to Cervara, and the couple have been married in the registry office. They are also planning to have a church wedding this September.
However, Zaiachkivska suddenly disappeared without a trace, sparking fears that she may have been kidnapped. A manhunt was launched to search for her in Ukraine.
When Cervara saw his wife’s Instagram pictures, the man couldn’t believe she had run off to America.
Months ago, Zaiachkivska posted on Instagram photos and messages saying she was “very happy” to be part of the wealthy Italian family.
In a recent interview with Mirror, however, she claimed her husband ‘raised his hand against her’ and sometimes neglected her at home.
“The first time when he did it I ran away to my parents’ house in the western Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankivsk. I did not tell them what the matter was,” she was quoted as saying.
“He came to get me, and I gave him a second chance, but during an argument he spat in my face, and I simply could not take it,” the woman added.
Feeling betrayed, the furious Cervara is planning to sue her wife for braking their prenuptial agreement and for allegedly stealing a $6,600 mobile phone.
“She has lots of pretty photos taken in five-star hotels, she is posing with other men. She does not look unhappy at all,” he said.
He also claimed her wife is “not the person she is pretending to be.”
