- An Iceland tourist drew a map on the envelope of a letter which he really wanted to send to his friend
- The desperate man does not have the address of the person whom he wrote a letter for
- In the end, the letter was delivered to its recipient
Well, you will never know what you can accomplish unless you try.
An Iceland tourist didn’t have the address of the person he was sending a letter to — good thing, he has a good memory and a determined heart.
In an article written by Ruta Grasyte of Bored Panda, it was disclosed that because he could not come up with the address of the intended recipient, the man just drew a map which leads to a farm in Hvammsveit, West Iceland, with a red dot marked on the destination.
The envelope reads: “Country: Iceland. City: Búdardalur. Name: A horse farm with an Icelandic/Danish couple and three kids and a lot of sheep!” Also included is a little clue in the corner saying that “the Danish woman works in a supermarket in Budardalur.”
Fortunately, the letter made it to the right address and to the right recipient.
“Without an address, an Icelandic tourist drew this map of the intended location (Budardalur) and surroundings on the envelope. The postal service delivered!” said the social media user who posted the photo on Reddit, where it got more than 7,000 points.
Meanwhile, a lot of Reddit users commented on the photo.
“Damn, that’s more impressive than people who mail a potato by slapping a stamp on it,” said Khourieat.
“Here’s how we do it in Ireland. I’m impressed, especially considering how many wrong address letters I get every month,” wrote Bruncvik.
“Wow! I am impressed! I’m sure it was a talking point among the workers who must now feel truly satisfied with their achievement,” expressed Joanne5959.
There are also some who shared their own experiences when it comes to mail delivery.
