Splendid news, Harry Potter fans! You may now get a chance to relive your favorite young wizard’s childhood in his muggle home as the iconic Dursleys house goes on the market.
The 4 Privet Drive home in Little Whingeing, Surrey in the books is 12 Picket Post Close in Bracknell, Berkshire in real life, as per an article published by BBC.
Berkshire is a fashionable county, home to Windsor Castle, Ascot Racecourse, and numerous prominent people including the parents of the Duchess of Cambridge, and U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May.
It was selected in 2001 to be the set for the Dursleys home in the very first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone — where we would first meet the boy-who-lived, Harry, living in a cupboard under the stairs and maltreated by his cruel Uncle Vernon, Aunt Petunia, cousin Dudley before he learned the truth of his identity and his admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
The three-bedroom house with a landscaped rear garden and a large patio is on sale for 475,000 pounds ($620,000).
According to the listing in Zoopla, the home is: “Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac location, this detached property has recently undergone complete renovation to an extremely high standard.”
The house was previously sold in 2010 for 290,000 pounds ($378,000), at the height of the worldwide Harry Potter craze, and has soared in value in recent years.
