MANILA, Philippines – Convicted National Bilibid Prison (NBP) inmate and notorious drug lord Herbert Colanggo has personally dedicated a song to embattled Senator Leila De Lima in viral video.
The nearly 2-minute clip was first uploaded on the Facebook page OFW in Israel Foundation and has racked up more than 2.7 million views in less than 24 hours.
The page said it was sent to them by Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, the lawyer of some inmates who testified against De Lima at the Lower House hearing.
The viral video featured former Ozamis Robbery Gang leader Colanggo and three fellow inmates belting out the song entitled “Akala Mo Lang ‘Yun’”. The short piece was supposedly dedicated to De Lima.
Colanggo himself appeared before the Lower House investigation to spill the beans on De Lima’s alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade inside the Bilibid.
The notorious criminal, who is also a self-styled singer-artist, revealed he raised money for De Lima’s senatorial campaign by selling illegal drugs.
He also claimed to have given De Lima a P3-M monthly ‘payola’ when she was still the Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary. In return, Colanggo said he enjoyed several perks and privileges inside the prison.
Meanwhile, Colanggo’s song in the viral clip did not specifically mention De Lima, but it tackles about supposedly ‘people judging other people’.
One line read:
“Huwag mong husgahan ang kahit na sino (Don’t judge anyone)
Syia lang ang may alam kung ano ang totoo (He (God) alone knows the truth)
Huwag mong husgahan ang buhay ng iba (Don’t judge other’s lives)
Nang ‘di ka rin naman mahusgahan nila.” (So they won’t judge you as well)
