- Senator De Lima refused to speak ill of Ronnie Dayan
- She said she’s not the type of a person who would malign someone who has been part of her life
- The senator said Dayan is also innocent in the alleged Bilibid drug trade
Senator Leila De Lima would not speak ill of her former driver-bodyguard and ex-lover Ronnie Dayan even if he testified against her during the House of Representatives committee on justice’s inquiry into the alleged proliferation of illegal drugs inside the New Bilibid Prison.
Dayan testified last week before the House committee on justice that he had a seven-year romantic relationship with the senator and that he received drug money from drug lord Kerwin Espinosa in behalf of the lawmaker. He said the money was used in De Lima’s Senate candidacy.
But despite Dayan’s damning testimony, De Lima not only refused to speak ill of him, but also insists on his innocence.
That’s not me.
[Despite of what Ronnie did to me, I am not the kind of person who will speak ill of someone who had been part of my life. That’s not me. I will not do that to him.]
[Isn’t it that he said he knows nothing about the Bilibid drug trade…I am innocent, even him, in the Bilibid drug trade]
The senator claimed Dayan has been forced to testify against her.
