P1 million bounty for Dayan’s capture given to wrong informant? – Report

  • The barangay captain from La Union where Ronnie Dayan resided said the person who informed the authorities about Dayan is different from the one who received the P1 million reward
  • He said farmer Juanito Gavina was the one who first informed them of Dayan
  • The P 1 million bounty was given to an unknown goat farmer

Reports has it that the P1 million reward for the informant regarding Ronnie Dayan, Senator Leila de Lima’s former lover, security aide and alleged bagman, has gone to the wrong person.

Inquirer revealed in an article published November 30 that residents of Barangay Lacong in La Union, were surprised that the man whom they knew gave information to the police did not receive the P 1 million bounty cash.

The story said that the people there were pointing to a farmer Juanito Gavina. Barangay captain Dominador Lilan said it was Gavina who first informed him of Dayan’s whereabouts when his face was flashed on television.

The farmer, said Lilan, was also the one who helped Dayan build his house when he transferred there in La Union so he is familiar with how Dayan looks like.

Lilan led the search for Dayan on November 21 but de Lima’s former body guard escaped. They were able to capture him the following day at Barangay San Felipe.

The locals there were left surprised when they found that the bounty was given to a goat farmer whose identity was concealed.

Last week during the reopening of the House of Representative’s probe on the illegal drug trade in the New Bilibid Prison, a man whose face was all covered up received the P1 million reward.

This was given by the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) in the presence of some lawmakers probing Dayan.
