Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Director General Ronald De la Rosa said he will order all priests to pray for rain on November 30, the day a huge anti-Marcos rally is scheduled.
“I-require ko lahat ng pari ng chaplain service namin to pray for rain. Magdasal iyong mga pari na umulan para hindi sila makapag-grupo. Lahat ng pari, buong mundo, ay buong PNP, pinagdadasal ko ng rain,” ABS-CBN quoted Chief De la Rosa as saying when asked about the PNP’s preparation for the upcoming anti Marcos burial rally.
[I will require all the priests in our chaplain service to pray for rain, so that they (protesters) could not form a group. All the priests in the world, I mean the whole PNP, I asked them to pray for rain]
De la Rosa stressed that the police would not prevent anti-Marcos protesters from staging their rallies as long as they do not start trouble.
“We don’t have to prepare for everything. We will give them all they want. They can have the streets, parks, plazas. Go ahead hindi namin sila haharangin provided huwag lang silang manggulo, [we will not block them provided they don’t create trouble]” he said.
A huge rally is expected to take place on November 30 to be held at the People Power Monument located on the corner of EDSA and White Plains Avenue in Barangay Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
