Solon lauds Pres. Duterte’s signing of GAA2017, wears embroidered barong with Digong’s clenched fist trademark

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has signed on December 22 the General Appropriations Act of 2017 which is dubbed as “real change budget for 2017”.

As per his speech during the momentous event, “The General Appropriations Act of 2017 is the embodiment of the Filipinos’ clamor for real change.”

And for such positivism, PBA party-list Representative Mark Sambar makes no secret over his full support for the President ‘Mayor’ Duterte by donning a “statement” barong which has on its back and front an embroidered image of the change-maker’s clenched fist trademark.

On the back part of the  traditional barong is a huge embroidery of the ironic Duterte fist, while a smaller image can be seen on the front part. He wore it at the Malacanang event.

On its Facebook page, PBA Partylist shared photos of the signing event; with the description as follows:

Today, December 22, 2016, PBA Partylist Representative and Committee on Appropriations Vice Chair Mark Aeron Sambar lauds President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for signing the General Appropriations Act of 2017.

In line with President Duterte’s agenda, the biggest allocation in GAA2017 is for education which is pegged at P566B. Also part of the top priorities are social welfare services, economic services, national security, and other agencies under the Executive Order No. 1, or the agencies under the Office of the President. In terms of sectoral allocation, social services got the biggest chunk of the budget followed by economic services.

Sambar expressed that the partylist is truly thankful for the early Christmas present from the President and that he is confident these appropriations would be fully utilized for the benefit of the citizenry.
