A sports utility vehicle (SUV) on Tuesday, December 20, slammed into the area for arriving passengers and well-wishers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3; hitting 5 people in the process.
According to ABS-CBN, the driver of the Ford Ranger with license plate AOL 999 was being driven by a certain Dr. Agnes Barbosa, who was reportedly waiting for a relative to arrive. Dr. Barbosa accidentally stepped on the accelerator that caused the vehicle to lurch forward.
The SUV hit five persons that included two foreign passengers identified as Ahmad Heba and Scott Massey, a Filipino passenger named Edwin Rubei and well-wishers Greggy Cunayan and Troi Troani.
The victims were rushed to the Philippine General Hospital for treatment.
Dr. Barbosa was immediately arrested by responding airport police Jerome Adanza. Charges of reckless imprudence resulting to damage to properties and injuries are being prepared by airport authorities against the lady doctor.
