Passengers of Delta Air Lines flight in Detroit were treated to a disturbing – and some said, amusing – spectacle after a female passenger was forcibly removed from a plane by literally dragging her off.
A video of the incident has been uploaded on You Tube; presumably, by one of the passengers.
In the 2-minute clip shared by one Rene deLambert, cops can be seen dragging a woman by her arms through the plane aisle as passengers tried to suppress laughs and giggles.
The unidentified woman is said to have refused to comply with the airline’s boarding procedures; prompting the cabin crew to call the airport police.
Flat on her back, the woman is seen being hauled off her seat into the nearest exit as fellow passengers reacted in amusement.
One passenger can be heard suggesting the woman should have been tasered while another described the ridiculous scene as ‘some crazy sh*t’.
“No one is gonna’ believe me if I tell them,” said one.
According to the New York Post, the incident happened on Monday morning at the Detroit Metro Airport on a San Diego-bound flight. The woman, who remains unidentified, has been taken into custody.
The airlines has since released a statement on the incident, saying: “At approximately 8 this morning, Delta Air Lines contacted Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s police department requesting assistance with a passenger who would not comply with boarding and baggage check procedures at a McNamara Terminal gate.”
“When officers arrived, Delta Air Lines stated the woman could not remain on board. Despite repeated requests by officers, the woman refused to leave the aircraft and had to be removed. She was arrested and charges are pending,” the statement added.
