Action star-turned politician Cesar Montano said he plans to promote the beautiful places in the Philippines through movies.
Montano, the Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), said he plans to organize regional film festival that will showcase the tourist spots in and around the country.
“It is one of my major projects this year. Maraming magagandang places dito sa Pilipinas, marami tayong kwentong magaganda na hindi naikukwento, at ’yun ang gusto nating target-in,” Montano said.
[There are many beautiful places here in the Philippines, a lot of good stories that are yet to be told and that’s what we want to target]
According to Manila Bulletin, Montano tapped the Film Development Council of the Philippines led by Liza Diño to be a partner in the endeavor. They are eyeing 10 provinces for the project.
The TBP COO did not discount the possibility that he may act in one of the films.
“Basta hindi makakahadlang sa trabaho ko bilang full time COO, baka pwede. Pero kung makakahadlang, hindi ko pwedeng tanggapin,” the veteran actor noted, adding “Kaya ko naman gumawa ng pelikula, hangga’t hindi ito makakasira sa aking trabaho, gagawin ko. Time management lang.”
[As long as it won’t hinder my work as a full time COO, maybe I could. But if it will be a hindrance, I cannot accept it. I can make movies as long as it will not be detrimental to my work, I will do it. It’s only time management]
