- Kiko Estrada wins Best Actor at the World Class Excellence Japan Awards
- He was given the award after his portrayal as Jason in GMA’s remake of Sinungaling Mong Puso

Kapuso star Kiko Estrada won the title ‘Outstanding New Best Actor’ at the World Class Excellence Japan Awards (WCEJA), January 28, at the Heritage Hotel Manila.
The award was given to the actor due to his great portrayal as Jason Aguirre in the now-defunct GMA Afternoon Prime soap “Sinungaling Mong Puso.”
In the remake, he portrayed the role of a young man with whom the main character, Clara, fell in love with. Clara is married to an abusive man.
The show is an adaptation of the popular 1992 movie of the same title which starred Vilma Santos, Gabby Concepcion, Aiko Melendez, Aga Muhlach, and Alice Dixson.
The award-giving body WCEJA, meanwhile, aims to give tribute to world class achievers who have outstandingly given pride and honor to their respective countries, according to its website.
It envisions as a source of inspiration to people with alive passion in performing their crafts, and for those with desire to bring honor and pride to their country.
Aside from Kiko, his father Gary Estrada also brought home the titles ‘Outstanding Actor in Philippine Cinema/Television’ and ‘Outstanding Local Legislator Awards’.
His good image as a person, father, and friend served as the basis in selecting Gary as recipient of the award, as posted on Http Charlie Potatoe blog.
He also played his role well as a public servant during his term as Board Member of Quezon.
Like Kiko, his father is also working under GMA Network. He is currently in the GMA Telebabad soap “Alyas Robinhood”.
