The franchise holder of Jollibee Food Corporation in Pangasinan hired persons with disabilities (PWD) to give them a chance to lead a productive and fulfilling life.
The Dagupan Multi-Bee Corporation signed an agreement with Dagupan City government to provide work to the city’s differently-abled persons to allow them to earn a living.
According to Sun Star, the Jollibee franchise holder and the city government signed a memorandum of agreement on January 16, 2017 to hire PWDs, especially deaf and mute, to be part of Dagupan Muliti-Bee Corporation’s workforce.
Reagan Lim, managing director of the Dagupan Multi-Bee Corporation, signed the agreement with Dagupan City Mayor Belen Fernandez.
“We signed a partnership with the City to give the deaf/mute an equal opportunity to earn a living,” said Lim.
Initially, the company hired two PWDs, who were assigned cleaning jobs like dishwashing and floor cleaning. Lim said that if the program proves successful, they will surely hire more PWDs who are residents of the city.
The PWDs will be receiving the same salary as the other Jollibee employees.
