- The actress urged Medina’s bashers to stop pulling her down as she is doing everything to raise the Philippine flag
Former Binibining Pilipinas candidate Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez has called on the bashers of Miss Philippines Maxine Medina to just support the country’s bet for the 2016 Miss Universe pageant.
In an article written by Nikko Tuazon of PEP, it was disclosed that actress-dancer Marquez told bashers not to make Medina feel what the former felt when she was still competing for the Binibining Pilipinas 2015 crown.
“Can’t help but miss the time I was strutting and posing and just having the time of my life at the Binibining Pilipinas coronation night,” Marquez, the daughter of Alma Moreno and Joey Marquez, recalled.
“Alam n’yo the trainings are tough, pero mas ‘tough’ o mas grabe pangba-bash sa akin before this night…. Kaya sana suportahan na lang nating lahat si Maxine at ‘wag n’yo na siya i-down. I’m sure ginagawa niya lahat para itaas ang flag natin. She’s Ms Universe PH for a reason kaya magtiwala tayo. Good luck, Maxine!” she continued.
[You know, the trainings were tough but what’s more difficult was receiving harsh comments from my bashers before this night…. Let’s just support Maxine. Stop pulling her down because, I am sure, that she is doing everything to raise our flag. She’s Ms. Universe PH for a reason so let’s just trust her. Good luck Maxine!]
Medina has been receiving a lot of negative comments from bashers, especially from those who are questioning her ability to speak English fluently.
Earlier, her mentor Mark Abalos defended her critics.
“We are second language speakers of English. Errors are normal. At the end of the day, it’s just a beauty contest. Maxine will still be beautiful. She’ll still be designing interiors. She has a beautiful life ahead,”Abalos said.
