MANILA, Philippines – A 34-year-old factory worker has accused a police officer of raping her inside his car in Barangay Canlubang, Calamba City in Laguna on Monday evening, January 23.
The suspect has been identified as Police Inspector Aaron Cabillan, 29 years old and a member of the intelligence unit of the Regional Public Safety Batallion CALABARZON police.
According to reports, patrolling cops from the Calamba police chanced upon the suspect’s private car parked behind the Robinson’s Supermarket around midnight.
When police officer took a peek on the car’s window, they saw the naked suspect on top of a woman.
Upon seeing the cops, the victim immediately screamed for help; prompting the officers to arrest the suspect.
The woman, who refused to be named, said she was only standing beside the road when Cabillan approached her in his vehicle and pretended to ask for direction.
The suspect then forced her inside the vehicle and sexually abused her at gunpoint.
CALABARZON police spokesperson Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran said Cabillan is now under the custody of the authorities and is currently detained at Calamba City Police Custodial Facility while charges against him is being prepared.
The suspect was reportedly off duty when he committed the alleged crime.
