  • The housemaid of actress-host Amy Perez’s Castillo was arrested for theft
  • The suspect allegedly ran away with the couple’s three watches and some money from the village association
  • The housemaid is facing qualified theft charges

MANILA, Philippines – The housemaid of actress Amy Perez-Castillo has been arrested for alleged theft; this was revealed by the ‘It’s Showtime’ host on ABS-CBN morning show ‘Umagang Kay Ganda’ on Friday, February 17.

According to Perez-Castillo, the housemaid identified as 40-year-old Melrose Buli-buli alias ‘Rose Besano’ recently asked permission to take a day-off.

However, Amy and her husband, Carlo Castillo, already suspected that Besano  has no plan to return since she packed all her things and took them along with her. Previously, the suspect also asked for a two-week leave; saying she is getting married.

But these inconsistencies in Besano’s excuses to leave have made the couple doubt her real intention.

“Nitong huli na nga, noong nagpapaalam na siya, sabi ko parang ang dami na niyang inconsistencies sa lahat ng mga sinasabi niya,” said the actress-host.

[Lately, after she asked permission, I said there are many inconsistencies already in what she’s telling us.]

The couple also found out that Besano took the P12,000 monthly dues the neighbors gave for safekeeping.

The suspect was nabbed in an entrapment operation launched by the Quezon City Police District-District Special Operations Unit on Valentine’s Day.

Recovered from the housemaid were three pieces of watches worth P260,000 which belong to her former employer, but the money was no longer in her possession.

The suspect confessed to have stolen from the couple some cash, grocery items, kid’s toys and imported clothes in the four years that she had worked for them.

She was also alleged to have ran away with the money that belongs to her fellow housemaids, from the school canteen and even from a laundry shop.

Besano is now facing qualified theft filed by Amy Perez-Castillo and her husband.
